About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician to join our dynamic team at Nordzco-Hostess Group' in Te Rapa Waikato. As a fulltime CAD Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our Carpentry & Cabinet Making operations, utilising your expertise to create detailed designs and technical drawings for a variety of joinery projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Producing high-quality CAD drawings and models for custom joinery and cabinetry projects
  • Collaborating closely with our design and production teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet project requirements
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the wider team throughout the design and manufacturing process
  • Keeping project records and documentation up-to-date
  • Continuously exploring ways to improve our design processes and workflows

What we're looking for

  • Experience (3+ years) as a CAD Technician within the joinery or cabinet making industry
  • A good understanding of how to read architectural plans and details
  • Proven record in CAD design work, preferably within the kitchen, joinery or home improvement industry
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software, such as CabinetVision, AutoCad, Solidworks or similar, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong technical understanding of joinery and cabinet making construction methods and materials
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve design challenges
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a desire to explore new design techniques
