About the roleWe are looking for a part-time sales assistant to help cover a period of leave. This role will involve helping customers, providing them with the latest design advice and interior solutions for their home, helping to maintain stock levels and inventory. As well as managing the customer database in our POS and online systems. 

This role is initially fixed term for 3 months, with the potential to be extended further. The hours are 10:00am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Greet customers promptly, initiate friendly conversations, and identify their needs through open questioning.
  • Sales & Closing: Use product knowledge to assist customers, overcome objections, and close sales effectively.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Resolve customer issues swiftly, ensuring satisfaction while minimizing company costs.
  • Sales Targets: Achieve individual sales targets and build a loyal customer base for repeat business.
  • Stock Management: Participate in stock takes, maintain inventory levels, and follow up on custom orders.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to OHS safety standards.
  • Visual Merchandising: Assist in implementing visual displays and promotional activities as directed by the creative team.
  • Administration: Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time, including POS functions and lead processing.
  • Security & Loss Prevention: Minimize loss by ensuring correct processing of sales and quotes with a "right first time" approach.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training to enhance customer service skills and product knowledge.

You will have

  • Previous experience in retail environments is advantageous
  • Ability  maintain a strong customer-centric approach.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills
