We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Auckland Operations Manager to take full ownership of the Auckland branch, encompassing operations, safety, compliance, people leadership, and key client relationships.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Auckland business while maintaining strong relationships with high-value clients and growing our second-tier customer base.

Operational Leadership:

Take full accountability for the day-to-day performance of the Auckland operation. Ensure efficient scheduling, service delivery, and utilisation of fleet and people. Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, cost control, and service quality. Oversee operational KPIs, reporting, and performance metrics.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

Lead and enforce health and safety systems in line with legislative requirements. Ensure compliance with environmental, transport, and waste-handling regulations. Manage incidents, investigations, and corrective actions. Maintain audit readiness and support regulatory inspections as required.

People & HR Management:

Lead, coach, and develop operational and account staff. Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. Build a strong safety-first, high-performance culture. Handle employee relations issues in line with company policies.

Client & Commercial Management:

Own and manage relationships with major blue-chip clients. Act as the senior escalation point for key customer issues. Identify opportunities to expand service offerings within existing accounts. Proactively grow second-tier and emerging customer accounts. Balance commercial growth with operational capability and service excellence.

Strategic Contribution:

Contribute to regional and national planning and strategy. Provide insights on market trends, risks, and growth opportunities. Collaborate with head office and other regions to improve systems and processes.

Proven experience in operations management, branch management, or senior operational leadership. Strong background in health & safety, compliance, and people leadership. Commercially astute with experience managing key customer relationships. Able to balance operational discipline with growth and customer focus. Confident leader who is hands-on, organised, and accountable. Experience in logistics, waste, transport, or industrial services preferred.

A Class 2 Truck Licence is desirable but not essential
