James Hargest College is seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as a Student Administrator / Graphic Designer. This is a unique dual role that combines essential administrative support for our students and senior staff with the production of high-quality school publications and marketing materials.
About the Role
This position requires a blend of excellent administrative, secretarial, and graphic design skills. You will be a key support person for students and staff while ensuring the college's public-facing materials are professional, accurate, and visually appealing.
Hours of work are 8.15am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday hours per week) – Term time only (40 weeks per year) plus extra hours by arrangement.
Salary based on the Support Staff in School Collective Agreement – Administration Grade 4 Step 9 - 13
Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Publication Production
- Design & Production: Create and produce a variety of materials including newsletters, prize giving certificates, International Department marketing materials, the Prospectus/Handbook, Open Day publications, Option Booklets, and Department Brochures.
- Advertising: Contact advertisers for the school newsletter and liaise with the Executive Officer.
- Ceremony Support: Collate information and certificates for Academic Blues and Scholarship Ceremonies.
- Orientation Packs: Create and assemble student/new teacher orientation packs.
- Digital Management: Upload all publications to the Staff Google Drive and maintain the JHC website.
- School Magazine: Liaise with the Deputy Principal for the production of the school magazine, collating articles and photos (project to be discussed further during interviews)
Student Administrator Support
- Secretarial Support: Provide essential secretarial work for the Associate and Deputy Principals when required.
- Stationery Management: Manage, order, and distribute stationery stock for staff and students.
- Student Services: Supply students with loaned uniform items, follow up on non-returns.
- Enquiries: Assist with student enquiries.
- Daily Notices: Create and circulate the Daily Notices.
- General Administration: Assist with administration/secretarial tasks and end-of-day processes as required.
First Aid & General Responsibilities
- Sick Bay: Provide sick bay and first aid assistance when required.
- Standards: Carry out all key tasks with a high level of presentation and accuracy.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively as part of the staff team.
