The Role & Requirements:

This Test Analyst role sits within the Credit Cards and Payments Team alongside a Product Owner, Developers, reporting to the Platform Lead.

The work includes a mix of in flight projects and BAU testing across core payments systems, with emphasis on payments scheme projects and enhancing automated regression coverage.

• With automation in mind, you will champion the review and extension of the automated regression suite, strengthen BDD practices, and improve test design and traceability.
• Experience with Cucumber and Gherkin is essential for ensuring step definitions are aligned with business requirements—while coding the underlying automation is advantageous, it's not a requirement for this role.
• Confidence in API and integration testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, and Swagger matters.
• Exposure to card management systems, and mobile wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay is highly regarded, as is familiarity with payments simulators.
• SQL expertise is required, including writing and executing queries across Oracle, SQL Server, and/or Postgres for data setup, validation, and defect triage.
• Experience across core banking testing, ISO 8583 messaging, and working in cross-functional Agile teams will add real value.

What we are looking for:

• An intermediate Test Analyst who is curious about how systems connect and is motivated by measurable quality outcomes.
• Proven BDD experience testing with Cucumber and Gherkin and practical API and integration testing capability.
• Solid SQL skills across Oracle and SQL Server, or Postgres platforms for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Background in credit cards and payments systems within banking or financial services.
• A collaborative style with clear communication, attention to detail, and comfort operating in Agile teams.
• Experience with payment simulators (EFTSIM/Finsim/Visa test tools), ISO8583, tokenisation or payments cryptography would be beneficial.
• Someone who enjoys influence and pace, and who wants their ideas to be heard and implemented.
