Leading Hand / Foreman, based in Nelson – fixed term contract

About the role, this exciting full time Leading Hand / Foreman role is available at Q1 2026 for a 16-month fixed term period, with strong potential for further extended opportunity.  The suitable applicant to be locally based in Nelson – surrounding Tasman area. Be part of a high performing working team and friendly open environment.  In co-ordination with the Site Manager co-ordinate and manage site staff and sub-contractors to ensure on time project completion, and proven record of project delivery. Comply with Armitage Williams Construction Health & Safety and Drug & Alcohol Policies. Drive a "safety first" culture where people clearly demonstrate safe behaviours and think safety before taking action, reporting incidents and assist in Health & Safety investigations as required.

What you will bring to be successful in this role, be a fully qualified carpenter, with a thorough understanding of the NZ Building Code.  Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Leading Hand / Foreman in commercial construction. Have vast experience and knowledge in commercial / residential construction.  High level of attention to detail, to be motivated, reliable and enthusiastic to join our friendly team. Supportive, hands-on experience and collaborative culture, high levels of self-awareness – these values are critical to our business success.
