Are you looking to grow your career in Corporate & Specialty underwriting within a high-performing, customer-focused team? We're looking for an experienced insurance professional to support our Corporate Insurance Leader, Underwriting Manager, EM Corporate & Specialty, and the wider Corporate team in delivering outstanding underwriting outcomes for our brokers, customers, and stakeholders.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the success of Suncorp/Vero's Corporate & Specialty (C&S) portfolio by providing high-quality underwriting support, fostering strong relationships, and contributing to financial and operational performance.
About the Role
As a Corporate Insurance Specialist, you will:
- Process C&S underwriting transactions and reinsurance placements within authority levels, supporting portfolio profitability and growth.
- Support Underwriters with renewal analysis to retain profitable business, identify opportunities, and strengthen broker relationships.
- Ensure the accuracy of risk data, government levies, and compliance-related processes.
- Carry out credit control activities, working directly with brokers to resolve outstanding premiums and facilitate policy adjustments or cancellations.
- Assist with Facultative Reinsurance payments and reconciliations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure Vero remains the insurer of choice for our intermediary partners.
- Demonstrate our values, take ownership of your performance, and actively invest in your personal development.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 5 years' experience within New Zealand and/or global insurance markets, across general insurance and reinsurance (mandatory)
- Prior experience with Suncorp NZ systems and processes (desired)
- Strong customer focus and proven ability to collaborate within a team environment
- Solid understanding of C&S underwriting principles and practices
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry and processing
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions
