Agile Programme Manager/Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Purpose:

* The purpose of Strategic Planning and Programmes (SPP) is to Enhance strategy and implementation functions across the organisation and is essential to future planning and improvement activities across which support the achievement of the organisation's strategy by implementing strategic planning and programmes across all departments like TEACHING, EDUCATION, HR, PROPERTY, MARKETING, IT & DIGITAL ENABLEMENT. They are currently handling around 100 strategic initiatives. It is a newly created position.

The role:

· The Agile Programme Manager/Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a lean-agile leader and Agile Release Train (ART) coach who is a critical change agent for new ways of working to lift the organisation's business agility across the Strategic Portfolio.

· Reporting to: Associate Director - Strategic Programme

· Team size - 4 Scrum Masters currently increasing to 5 next year with addition of a new ART

· Current Focus:

· Relaunching their brand project - improvement in webpage, enhance web process, Increasing marketing capability, Adoption of AI

· Streamline process for a positive student experience for attracting international students and ensuring quick decision making for them which will attract quality students given the competition worldwide.

· Foundational work including changes in environment like amalgamation of various facilities and courses, upgrading platforms & systems, ERP transformation, change management, focus on commercial capabilities and handling & managing financial constraints, shifting from a project mindset to a product-based view and deliver value for all stakeholders and students.

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Program manager / Agile Coach (with Program management and team management)/ Release Train Engineer (RTE) or equivalent leading transformational change in large, complex organisation's (minimum 10 years approx) & demonstrated success leading multi-year programmes valued at $20m+ (approx. for an understanding) [MANDATORY]
  • Proven experience in leading and managing small to medium-sized teams, including Scrum Masters either currently or previously. [Team management experience MANDATORY].
  • Significant experience in large-scale organisation's with accountability for budget management and delivery outcomes [ Education preferred but open to other large orgs in telco, finance, government etc. ] [Important]
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement and strategic planning. Experience in handling large scale transformation and change management. Should be able to handle resistance to change coming from other departments. [Important]
  • Scaled Agile Certifications, such as SAFe Scrum Master(SSM), SAFE Product Owner, Product Manager (PoPm), SAFe Agilist (SA), or SAFe Programme Consultant (SPC) [Important]
  • Willing to embrace Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture & tikanga) and other New Zealand leaderaship values [Important] …..(will share details of the same later once your cv is shortlisted).

  • Good to have:

  • Additional certifications in areas such as project management or Lean Six Sigma, PMP.
  • Education industry background.
