Aviva (incorp. Christchurch Women's Refuge) Charitable Trust is a social change agency that offers a comprehensive range of services for people at every stage of their journey towards overcoming family and sexual violence and its enduring effects. We aim to break the intergenerational family cycle of trauma and harm. Aviva supports people of all ages and all genders, whatever their experience of violence.
We are looking for a Family Violence Support Worker to join our dynamic team.
In this role you will provide professional individual and group-based services to support adults, youth and children experiencing family violence, or at risk of using family violence. A key focus of the position will be providing group facilitation and safety education and to groups and individuals experiencing family violence.
The position will include liaising with the other agencies that also work with our clients to ensure that support is gained in a timely, co-ordinated, and consistent manner.
This is a full-time permanent position. The hours for this role are between Monday and Friday. There is also an optional after hours roster you can be a part of if you wish.
To be successful in this role you will be a natural problem solver, you will be resilient and calm under pressure. You will also have:
- Relevant Social Work Qualification and/or experience
- Current professional membership of an approved professional body e.g., ANZASW, NZAC, NAPSS
- Experience working with people experiencing family violence.
- Current full driver's license
