At Millennium Hotel Rotorua, we're looking for a talented Chef de Partie who thrives on producing high-quality a cuisine, particularly a la carte, and supporting the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Whether it's crafting an elegant plated meal or preparing buffet service for a conference, you'll bring energy, creativity, and precision to every service.

You'll work closely with our Executive Chef and his team, playing a key role in daily operations - from à la carte menu execution to ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

This role is based in our open kitchen, where you'll not only be showcasing your culinary skill but also engaging with guests offering a warm, professional presence as part of the dining experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes for à la carte and conference service
  • Collaborating on menu design and contributing trend-conscious ideas for specials
  • Leading your section with efficiency, organisation, and great communication
  • Supporting breakfast service, conference catering, and banquets as required
  • Upholding Food Control Plan standards and ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment
  • Working with the kitchen team while promoting a positive kitchen culture

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
  • Holds a Level 4 Cookery qualification and Food Safety Certification
  • Brings creativity, resilience, and attention to detail to the role
  • Works well under pressure and thrives in a team-focused environment
  • Has a flexible approach to different shifts and service styles
  • Has strong knowledge of catering for food allergies and dietary sensitivities, and can adapt dishes accordingly

This is a full-time position with 40 hours a week and $ $31.62 per hour depending on experience.
