Oxford Agricultural Services Ltd - General Manager
Location: Oxford, North Canterbury
Full-time | Senior Leadership | Agricultural Contracting
Lead. Grow. Deliver.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated General Manager to join Oxford Agricultural Services Ltd (Oxford Ag) — a respected, locally owned rural contracting business with a strong reputation for reliability, service quality, and community values.
Based in Oxford, North Canterbury, Oxford Agricultural Services Ltd provides a full range of agricultural contracting solutions to farmers across the region — from cultivation and silage to transport and feed supply. We're proud to be a trusted partner to local landowners and agricultural businesses, known for our commitment to safety, performance, and customer satisfaction. With a dedicated team, well-maintained fleet, and strong community roots, Oxford Ag continues to grow as a leader in the rural contracting sector.
About the RoleReporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, team performance, and business growth. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring our services are delivered efficiently and profitably while maintaining Oxford Ag's reputation for reliability and integrity.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives on operational challenge, teamwork, and achieving results.
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Overseeing all operational activities, logistics, and service delivery.
• Supporting business planning, budgeting, and financial performance.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing staff across multiple teams.
• Driving continuous improvement and identifying growth opportunities.
• Managing assets, maintenance schedules, and risk/compliance obligations.
• Fostering a positive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.
You're a capable and practical leader who understands what it takes to run a successful contracting operation. With strong commercial and people skills, you're comfortable managing complex workloads, building relationships, and making clear decisions under pressure.
You'll bring:
• 5+ years' proven leadership experience in operations or agricultural services.
• Demonstrated ability to manage people, budgets, and business performance.
• Sound financial, planning, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• A full NZ Class 1 licence (Class 5 or endorsements advantageous).
• Tertiary qualification in agriculture, business or management preferred.
You'll be confident working with both office systems and field operations, able to balance strategy with hands-on support when needed.
Why Join Oxford Ag?
• Be part of a progressive, locally owned company with strong community ties.
• Lead a skilled and committed team delivering essential rural services.
• Work closely with a supportive CEO and leadership group.
• Make a real impact — with autonomy to shape operations and drive results.
This is an excellent opportunity for an operationally focused leader looking to take the next step in their career within a stable and growing rural business.
