We have unique positions created within our store called a _"Retail Assistant"_. Unlike the rest of our staff and employees who are rostered to and employed in definite Departments, this role is to report to the Assistant Store Manager and work with them by being assigned to different areas or Departments to work in during your work week._ Is it Meat Week in Butchery?_ You may be assigned to help fill the cabinet _Does Click & Collect have a staff member away on leave?_ You may help out in Online The primary role of the **_Retail Assistant_** is to assist in the day-to-day running of whichever department you may assigned to. **General Store Assistants **work across all areas of the store including all Fresh Food Departments (Produce, Butchery, Seafood, Service Deli and Bakery), as well as all other departments including Grocery, Coldshelf/Frozen Foods, Trolleys, Customer Service and Storeroom. The role involves ensuring that a sufficient quantity and range of products are available for sale at the correct price at all times during opening hours as well as ensuring the department is well merchandised, clean, tidy and attractively presented. **The hours & days for these positions are**: - Position #1**:Friday & Saturday **11:30 am - 9:00 pm _(16 hours per week)_ - Position #2**:Tuesday - Thursday **12:30 pm - 9:00 pm **Friday & Saturday **10:30 am - 7:00 pm _(40 hours per week)_ - Position #3**:Sunday & Monday **10:30 am - 7:00 pm **Friday & Saturday **6:00 am & 2:30 pm _(32 hours per week)_ **Your tasks could include**: - Serving customers - Helping with stock movement in the Inwards Goods Department using pallet jacks - Ensuring pricing and ticketing is correct - Stocking shelves/displays in relevant Department - merchandising fruit, meat, hot chickens, bread, milk, ice cream - Personal Shopping for Click & Collect - Collecting customer trolleys **We are looking for**: - Ability to work alone and independently, and productively - Eye for detail and pride in presentation - A great working attitude and ability to interact with customers - ** Absolute reliability** - Some physical work is involved, with lots of lifting and stacking, so a good level of fitness and strength is required for all tasks listed - examples of products that may require strength to lift/move/stock are bags of potatoes, a box of 6 1.5L Coke, sacks of rice, crate of pumpkins etc. Training on individual and specific tasks will be provided If you are a hardworking and reliable person, **enjoy learning multiple skills and working through different tasks **and looking to join a fun and energetic team or know somebody meeting these criteria, we would like to hear from you OUR VISION: We will continually challenge ourselves as we build on our journey to provide THE BEST SERVICE in Hawkes Bay.
