Position Purpose:

The Immunisation Advisor will work in conjunction with Te Whatu Ora and the Ministry of Health to support the successful delivery of immunisation services across the Southern region.  The Immunisation Advisor, along with the Project Manager - Immunisations (PMI), will contribute to, maintain, and monitor standard project management processes and promptly report on the project to the respective managers.

  • To supporting General Practice and other vaccination providers to improve immunisation rates in our region.
  • To provide information and support to the PMI for regular reporting to practices/providers and WellSouth's Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • To participate in the development and management of an effective qualitative programme support function to maximise the strategic goals of WellSouth, ensuring that implemented programme principles, models and methodology are robust and effective.
  • To advise on key immunisation programmes of work in primary care.
  • To make recommendations to define, establish, and improve processes to manage WellSouth's work programmes.
  • To provide guidance to WellSouth's immunisation work programme to ensure delivery of the National Immunisation Programme in the Southern region.

About you - To be successful in this role you will:

  • Degree level qualification in Health Care, or
  • Tertiary qualification in health-related discipline. (e.g., Bachelor of Nursing, Immunisations)
  • Experience and background in health, (Immunisations) welfare, or associated areas
  • Successful implementations of new applications, databases, and operating systems
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of current technologies
  • Experience in managing complex resource models.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing indirect reports and resources.
  • Technically competent with various software programs.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Ability to deal with unexpected situations and crises while maintaining a professional manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good levels of computer literacy.
  • A high degree of self-motivation, willingness, and self-responsibility to continually improve.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work calmly during times of pressure.
  • High levels of professionalism.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
