Great opportunity to work on a strategic procurement initiative aimed at strengthening infrastructure procurement capabilities across New Zealand. The programme focuses on enhancing delivery intelligence, streamlining procurement processes, and improving performance, productivity, and efficiency across the infrastructure supply chain.

We're seeking a skilled Project Manager to provide tactical leadership and delivery oversight across multiple procurement workstreams. You'll ensure programme activities remain strategically aligned and are executed on time, to quality, and within scope.

Key Deliverables

  • Performance Framework: Develop and implement the Maintenance & Operations performance framework
  • Supplier Management: Define and operationalise supplier prequalification and panel arrangements
  • Reporting: Deliver weekly and monthly programme status reports to the Executive Steering Committee, Steering Group, and Portfolio Group
  • Programme Planning: Develop and maintain the procurement roadmap and detailed workstream plans
  • Project Registers: Manage accurate and up-to-date registers across the programme
  • Assurance & Benefits: Establish and manage the assurance and benefits realisation plan
  • Workstream Delivery: Provide tactical direction and oversight across all procurement workstreams

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Procurement Expertise – Proven experience working within procurement teams or delivering projects in a procurement environment (mandatory)
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Strong facilitation and relationship management skills across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Governance Communication – Excellent written and visual communication skills for governance and decision-making audiences
  • Team Leadership – Demonstrated ability to manage multiple team members and concurrent deliverables
  • Project Management – Skilled in planning, procurement/contract management, reporting, and risk management

Hourly rate contract, through until May Must be able to start within next 2-3 weeks.
