Our New Plymouth team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery services team.

Our Process team delivers fit for purpose and cost-effective design solutions for our clients across all phases of development, with clients across oil, gas, water, manufacturing, petrochemical, renewables and other local industry projects.

Our New Plymouth team is one of the larger engineering consultancies in the Taranaki area, seeing growth across New Zealand and internationally.

You will have preferably a minimum 10 years' experience in Mining or Oil & Gas, although experience in manufacturing, dairy, infrastructure or heavy industry is also valued. Your proven experience will bring:

• Experience in delivering fit-for-purpose solutions in brownfield works and modifications,
• Expertise in process design for all engineering phases from concept/select and FEED through to detailed design and commissioning,
• Accuracy in the preparation of quotations, technical solutions, risk identification & mitigation strategies,
• Strength in process engineering design, including process safety management and loss prevention, process optimisation and heat integration, along with core skills such as process modelling, calculations, PFD and P&ID development,
• Knowledge and experience in latest technology and methodologies to enable efficient and competitive engineering solutions to be developed,
• Proven familiarity with, and application of industry Codes and Standards for design works,
• Advanced report writing skills,
• Ability to undertake technical lead on multiple projects and delegate tasks to other team members, providing technical guidance where required,
• Demonstrated ability to work with other disciplines and departments to produce deliverables within schedule and budget.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A Process Engineering degree, Washington Accord
• Chartered status with IChemE or Engineering New Zealand
• A very high level of technical expertise in design of industrial process systems,Consulting and/or operational experience with commercial acumen for project and client success,
• Skills in using process simulation software such as VMGSim or Aspen HYSYS,
• Experience in Process Safety Engineering.
