About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team at Christchurch. This role has multiple carpentry role options available, including working on architectural, residential and commercial sites. You will be a key part of our skilled construction team, contributing to the delivery of premium quality homes and buildings.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Specialising in decking projects — from framing to finishing, creating high-quality outdoor living spaces that stand out.
  • Working on renovation and restoration projects, upgrading and refreshing existing structures to a high standard.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other materials to construct floors, walls, roofs, and outdoor features.
  • Installing doors, windows, cabinetry, and other fixtures according to design plans.
  • Repairing and maintaining existing structures, including decking and other timber components.
  • Collaborating with other tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, etc.) to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years relative carpenter experience (Qualification not compulsory, but skillset must be to the trade standard of carpentry)
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Proven track record of high-quality carpentry work, particularly in the residential construction sector
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address any challenges that arise
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering premium quality work
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
  • A valid driver's licence and your own reliable transportation
