Hukarere is a unique and cherished school, celebrating 150 years of providing exceptional education grounded in Māori values, Anglican faith, and academic excellence. We are dedicated to nurturing strong, capable kōhine who are proud of their identity.

We are seeking a versatile and passionate individual to join our small, dedicated staff in a fixed-term role for the 2026 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the heart of our kura across three vital areas.

About the Role:

This position requires an adaptable, organised, and student-focused person to contribute to the following areas:

Teacher Aide 20hrs - Directly supporting students' learning and behaviour in the classroom.

Careers 10hrs - Assisting the lead teacher in administration tasks as well as supporting students with career planning, subject choices, and pathways beyond Hukarere.

Administrative Support 10hrs - Providing essential office and operational support to the school team.

While the right attitude and commitment to our kaupapa are paramount, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Some relevant experience in administration, education support, or career guidance.
  • A genuine desire to support the academic and personal growth of kōhine Māori.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to balance the diverse demands of the role.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of team.

A respectful understanding of, or willingness to engage with, Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in creating a positive and effective learning environment (Teacher Aide).
  • Help students research educational institutions and career options (Careers Pilot).
  • Perform general office duties, data entry, and communication tasks (Admin Support).
  • Uphold the special character and values of Hukarere, contributing positively to our school culture.
