Step into the spotlight with our dynamic Events team and help deliver exceptional events at council venues across the Matamata-Piako district, including the new Open Country Community Stadium based at Matamata College. This is a flexible, on-call role supporting a variety of events as needed. Whether it's sports fixtures, corporate events, conferences or community celebrations, you'll help ensure every event runs like clockwork. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable, as this role offers a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities.

A key part of this role involves working closely with the community - engaging with local groups, supporting events and helping to ensure all council venues are a welcoming space for everyone. You'll be part of a dedicated team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver excellent customer experiences and support at our council venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event administration, logistics, and support
  • Venue preparation, including physically setting up venues for events.
  • Conducting site inductions
  • Health & safety support
  • Delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • Working collaboratively with the community and team

What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent customer service and a friendly, helpful attitude
  • Comfortable with computer-based admin tasks
  • Physically fit and able to handle event-related duties
  • Full driver's license
  • Flexibility to work varying hours based on event schedules
