Te Tūranga – About The Role
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of DevSecOps innovation, championing productivity through cutting-edge automation and streamlined workflows.

You'll help shape our technical direction by establishing reusable frameworks, guiding squads as a trusted advisor, and ensuring our engineering designs align with enterprise architecture and security standards.

As a senior technical authority, you'll mentor talented engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex challenges, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence and driving the development and adoption of secure engineering standards and best practices across our organization

Key Responsibilities Include

• Define and Enforce Engineering Standards: A key role in the creation and adoption of secure engineering standards, governance policies, best practices, and alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance frameworks.
• Drive Secure & Efficient DevSecOps Practices: Champion productivity by streamlining workflows, automating tasks, and optimizing tools to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient solution delivery.
• Establish Reusable Frameworks & Continuous Improvement: Develop and maintain reusable frameworks, reference implementations, and continuously assess and improve engineering processes and tooling using feedback and metrics.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide deep technical guidance, mentorship, and strategic advice across teams, leading communities of practice and influencing engineering decisions and direction.
• Align Engineering & Architectural Design: Translate architectural designs into actionable implementation plans, review technical designs, and ensure engineering delivery aligns with organizational standards and vision.
• Collaboration & Representation: Collaborate closely with architects, tech leads, and engineers on complex problems and represent engineering in cross-functional and external forums.

He Kōrero Mōu - About You
You're a senior engineering leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges while guiding teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing systems. With deep expertise in DevSecOps, cloud security, and modern software delivery, you know how to turn high-level architecture into practical, robust solutions. Multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines are all in your toolkit - and you know how to use them to drive real impact.

You lead by example, mentoring engineers, shaping secure engineering practices, and influencing technical strategy across squads. You love pushing the boundaries of what's possible while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You're curious, forward-thinking, and energized by helping teams build resilient, future-ready systems.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in Principal Engineer or Senior Tech Lead roles, leading complex engineering initiatives.
• Deep expertise in DevSecOps, secure SDLC, cloud security, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), CI/CD, and containerisation.
• Strong architectural insight with hands-on experience in distributed systems, microservices, API security, and cloud migrations.
• Ability to mentor, influence, and uplift engineering capability across teams, embedding secure practices and technical excellence.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills to align delivery with strategy and enterprise architecture.
