Are you a dynamic, driven professional with a passion for product management. We're looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Corporate Systems team at New Zealand Customs.

About The Role...
Reporting to the Manager Workplace Technology and Platforms, you'll work closely with customers to develop and deliver sustainable products and services that support both tactical and strategic outcomes. You'll set the Technology vision and roadmap for our corporate products, ensuring alignment with Business needs, Customs' organisational and Technology strategies.

You'll lead a small team of permanent staff, contractors and some managed services, driving improvements and overseeing the delivery of products and services within the Corporate Systems portfolio.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Develop and drive the product roadmap for Corporate Systems (M365, Finance, Payroll Zendesk, Work force central, The Learning room).
  • Lead and inspire a team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Engage with Business and Technology stakeholders to understand needs and translate organisational priorities into actionable plans.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, from planning to delivery.
  • Champion best practices in Strategy, planning, Delivery and Operations.
  • This role is part of a rotational on call roster, typically one week in eight.

What You'll Work On...

  • Microsoft M365: Leading our M365 practice, driving policy, process, governance and assurance.
  • Finance System: Working with the Business owner and Business consumers to understand their needs and drive the Technology product roadmap.
  • Payroll System: Working with the Business Owner and Business consumers to understand their needs and drive the Technology product roadmap.
  • Zendesk Working with the Business Partners to understand their needs and drive the Technology product roadmap.
  • Learning Room Working with the Business Partner to understand their needs and drive the Technology product roadmap.

We're looking for someone with...

  • Preferred Significant (at least 5 years) Technology Product management experience in a complex enterprise environment, Leading Teams, strategy, Roadmap, Delivery & Operations.
  • Desired Significant experience leading a team / function / service.
  • Proven ability to achieve results through people and teams.
  • Experience translating organisational priorities into strategies and plans.
  • Strong people leadership experience, direct people management (have Managed Teams), including managing employment issues and leading change.
  • Experience leading and running and operational teams and services.
  • Project delivery experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on innovation and risk management.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Financial literacy and commercial acumen.
  • Experience building relationships and partnerships across government and industry.

New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident
* and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate level of security clearance to a Secret clearance level. Due to the nature of Customs work you must have a clear Police record. Successful applicants are also required to pass a drug test.

a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 10 years and resides in New Zealand at time of application but may have been absent from New Zealand for periods of six or more months within the past ten years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, United Kingdom or the United States of America. You will be required to provide overseas police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
