About the role
Axlelign/TyreLand Hornby is seeking an experienced Commercial Tyre Technician to join our team in Christchurch. This is a full-time role, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. As a Tyre Technician you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of tyres for a range of vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency while meeting our clients' needs.
What you'll be doing
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair or replace tyres on cars and commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and heavy equipment
- Rotate and balance wheels and tyres to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate records of all tyre-related work
- Provide excellent customer service and advice to clients
- Ensure the workshop and equipment are well-maintained and safe
- Collaborate with the team to improve efficiency and problem-solve issues
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Commercial Tyre Technician, Fitter, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of tyre types, repair procedures, and safety protocols
- Ability to use tyre-changing equipment and tools proficiently
- Wheel alignment knowledge or experience would be an advantage
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Excellent customer service skills and a focus on safety
Reliable, organized, and able to work well in a team
- A clean driving license and the ability to operate commercial vehicles
