Commercial Tyre Technician

About the role

Axlelign/TyreLand Hornby is seeking an experienced Commercial Tyre Technician to join our team in Christchurch. This is a full-time role, offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits. As a Tyre Technician you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of tyres for a range of vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency while meeting our clients' needs.

What you'll be doing

1. Inspect, diagnose, and repair or replace tyres on cars and commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and heavy equipment
2. Rotate and balance wheels and tyres to manufacturer specifications
3. Maintain accurate records of all tyre-related work
4. Provide excellent customer service and advice to clients
5. Ensure the workshop and equipment are well-maintained and safe
6. Collaborate with the team to improve efficiency and problem-solve issues

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Commercial Tyre Technician, Fitter, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of tyre types, repair procedures, and safety protocols
• Ability to use tyre-changing equipment and tools proficiently
• Wheel alignment knowledge or experience would be an advantage
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills

• Excellent customer service skills and a focus on safety

• Reliable, organized, and able to work well in a team

• A clean driving license and the ability to operate commercial vehicles
