Specialist Case Manager

New Zealand Wise Group Full time NZ$55,000 - NZ$85,000 per year
  • We're here to end homelessness. No fluff. Just action.
  • 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm
  • Extra leave, wellbeing days, and health perks

Worked in frontline mental health, with coping-based
substance use, or in social services and  have a fire in your gut for social justice?

At The People's Project, we don't sit behind desks
and talk about change. We're out there making it happen. Walking the streets.
Standing with people. Doing the hard yards to work with people experiencing
homelessness, to support them to get off the street and into homes.

Who We Are | Mō mātou
We're a team of doers, fighters, and believers.
We're here to make homelessness in Hamilton rare, brief, and non-recurring.
Everyone deserves a roof over their head — no exceptions. We're relentless in
making that a reality.

What You'll Get | Ngā
āhuatanga kei a mātou

  • Extra KiwiSaver contributions
  • A fifth week of annual leave
  • Two paid wellbeing days a year
  • $250 HealthNow card — for your hauora and your whānau
  • Perk & Perk Plus discount app
  • School holiday programme support (30+ hour roles)

The role | Mō tnei tūranga
mahi
This isn't a 9 to 5 behind a
screen. You'll be out there — on the streets, in the parks, in the thick of it
— meeting people where they're at. You'll build trust, walk alongside them, and
help them take the next step toward a stable home.

You'll work with tāngata whai
ora, landlords, and service providers to build housing and support plans that
actually work. You'll report to your Team Leader and be part of a tight-knit
team using the Housing First approach to connect people with the services they
need to stay housed and thrive.

Who You Are | Mōu
You're real. You're resilient.
You are tenacious. You don't walk away when things get messy. You know how to
talk to anyone, cut through red tape, and keep showing up. You're not here for
the title — you're here to change lives.

You bring:

  • Experience in mental health, addiction, or social services — or a relevant tertiary qualification (social work, nursing, occupational therapist, etc.)
  • A working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Reo Māori, and Tikanga — and a hunger to grow
  • Experience with Māori and Pasifika communities
  • Solid physical fitness and a full, clean NZ driver's licence
  • An understanding of harm reduction and Housing First — or the drive to learn

This role aligns with the
Social Worker pay equity scale.
