About the role

V-dragon Swim Teaching and Coaching Service Ltd is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Swim Coach to join our Dragon Swim Club team in Christchurch Central, Canterbury. This is a part-time opportunity to work with swimmers of all ages and skill levels, helping them to develop their swimming abilities in a supportive and nurturing environment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Delivering high-quality swim lessons to groups of swimmers, tailoring your approach to meet the individual needs of each student
  2. Assisting swimmers with technique development, stroke correction, and building their confidence in the water
  3. Maintaining accurate records of swimmer progress and providing regular feedback to both students and parents
  4. Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all swimmers, adhering to health and safety protocols
  5. Collaborating with the wider V-dragon team to continuously improve the quality of our programs
  6. Potentially some additional hours for admin tasks outside of coaching hours.

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a swim coach or instructor, with a proven track record of delivering effective swimming lessons
  2. Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety, and swimmer development
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate swimmers of all ages
  4. A genuine passion for swimming and a commitment to providing a positive and enriching experience for all students
  5. Relevant swim coaching qualifications or certifications (e.g., Ausswim TOCS)
  6. Availability to work during peak swim lesson times, including evenings and weekends

Working Hours

Our training hours are Monday to Friday pm, Saturday am and pm for primary school terms, School holiday hours are pm Monday to Friday. Your hours will be around this schedule subject to demand.
