About the Role:

We are seeking a Nurse Lead to provide clinical and operational leadership to our established highly motivated nursing team. This role combines people leadership with hands-on nursing care, ensuring consistently high-quality service delivery within our practice.

You will be responsible for supporting nursing staff, co ordinating daily workflows, ensuring clinical excellence, and championing continuous quality improvement.

The position is 0.8 FTE, consisting of 32 hours across four days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and supervise our nursing team
  • Deliver comprehensive patient care, health education and support
  • Develop and sustain a positive team culture where all team members are supported
  • Coordinate nursing workflows and rosters
  • Support professional development of the nursing team
  • Support onboarding, and performance reviews
  • Act as a leader and liaison person between the nurses and other disciplines in and outside of the practice, in a collaborative, professional fashion
  • Apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi to everyday practice
  • Monitor and support clinical quality and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance and cold chain, infection control, and clinical audit requirements

You will have:

  • NZ Registered Nurse  status with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC), post-graduate qualifications would be desirable
  • Minimum five years working as a registered nurse, and ideally  proven leadership experience in primary care, general practice, or community nursing
  • Vaccinator, cervical screening and preceptorship certification - or willingness to train
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with quality improvement and audits (preferred)
  • Commitment to cultural safety, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity
  • Competency with PMS systems
