Manager - Helloworld Travel Auckland CBD

Helloworld Travel New Zealand is based in Auckland, as part of the overall Australian based Helloworld Travel Company.

It includes Inbound, Retail, Wholesale, Shared Services, Tour Operations, or our Air Tickets Consolidation Team. The retail store in Auckland CBD is part of a network of Franchisee owned and operated stores across New Zealand.

About the Role:

In the position of Manager, you will use your travel knowledge to contribute to a growing business, leading the team on sales, and service culture. At the same time, leveraging your people skills and financial management to build a strong team, and developing strong relationships with the local businesses, and the residential community in the CBD and surrounding suburbs.

As the Travel Manager, you will be accountable for:

• Developing the team to achieve excellence in customer service, sales & margin growth.
• Developing and refining processes and procedures to maintain workflow efficiencies.
• Managing the Customer Support of the Helloworld Travel NZ Online Booking system including on-call customer support out of normal business hours.
• Achieve personal gross sales and margin targets, while leading the team members to achieve their individual targets, and together the store target.
• Growing the customer database for the store through local area marketing, in-store promotions, and connecting with the CBD community.
• Effective Customer Support management for the Online Bookings
• Maximise the use of Resworld, Air Tickets, GONet, Ready Rooms, and Cruise Pro in-house systems to increase productivity.
• Accurate financial management including reconciliations & reporting, and adherence to budgets.
• Ensure that the use of preferred suppliers meets the 80% target of total sales.
• Organising and attending in-store consumer events on a regular basis.

All about you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience of people management & leadership in a retail travel environment.
• Travel Level 4 qualification or similar standard recommended.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets and service objectives.
• Strong travel knowledge and proven selling skills and achievements.
• Awareness of employment standards to achieve a high level of staff engagement.
• Demonstrated experience in customer excellence.
• Strong attention to detail and administration.

Other Considerations:

• You may be required to travel domestically and internationally to attend work related meetings, conferences and familiarisations. These could occur over weekends.
