The role sits within the Legal, Governance & People Team, which is responsible for:

  • providing legal and governance services to the AMP Wealth Management and AMP Services New Zealand business. The team helps to drive business strategy by partnering with stakeholders in other business units to provide timely and pragmatic advice and guidance.
  • empowering and supporting our people by fostering an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing workplace. The HR Business Partner plays a critical role in advancing the organisation's purpose of helping people create their tomorrow. Operating as a trusted advisor, this role partners with leaders and employees to deliver HR initiatives that enhance the employee experience, drive engagement, and foster a high-performing culture.

The HR Business Partner is responsible for delivering best-practice solutions across business partnering, remuneration and benefits (including annual performance management), employment relations, Health & Safety, recruitment and assisting with the Speak Up programme. This role is pivotal in supporting organisational growth through expert advice, hands-on support, and proactive leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business Partnering.
  • Remuneration and Benefits (including Remuneration Market Matching).
  • Employment Relations.
  • Development planning.
  • Supporting leaders in driving engagement, culture, and performance.
  • Owning the Health & Safety workplan.
  • Owning the recruitment process.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor on all people-related matters, ensuring alignment with organisational values and objectives.

What you'll need to succeed - Ngā wahanga matua o te turanga

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a generalist HR role, including business partnering responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in employment relations, remuneration and benefits, recruitment and performance management processes.
  • Strong experience working with People policies, processes, HRIS systems and data reporting.
  • Solid foundation in New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Tertiary qualification in business, HR, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Exceptional team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and business ethics.
