We are seeking a Production Afternoon Shift Manager to join our dynamic contract manufacturing team located in beautiful Hawke's Bay.

Specialising in bottled UHT beverages we are committed to delivering excellence across all aspects of our operation and are seeking an experienced team leader to manage our afternoon production shift.  Your key objective is to manage end-to-end operations of the afternoon shift including production requirements, batching, milk receival, UHT and Filler operations, cleaning and post-production reporting and record-keeping.

With a strong commitment to health and safety you will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant productions meet quality standards and production targets in a timely manner. You'll oversee a great team and lead by example with your motivation, positivity, and proven experience in production environments.

This role reports to the Production Manager. Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential. This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. Shift work will be required. 

Responsibilities

Strong time management and prioritisation skills including the ability to manage competing priorities.

Continuous improvement orientation and proven delivery.

Confident Communicator.

Manage daily production activities, ensuring alignment with company standards, quality, and output targets. Hands on when necessary.

Ensure all production activities are carried out in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Ensure product and plant compliance with customer and RMP requirement.

Oversee production requirements, milk receival, UHT and Filler operations, and post production & general cleaning.

Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and traceability.

Co-ordinate rosters, leave planning, and training for operators.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Ensure the highest standards of workplace health and safety, promoting a proactive safety culture

Conduct toolbox meetings and incident investigations.

Skills and Experience

Degree or diploma in Food Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).

Minimum 3 years' experience in UHT or dairy manufacturing, including leadership.

Proven understanding of aseptic operations, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.

Strong leadership and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Right to work in New Zealand and Current New Zealand Driver License and Own Car.
