Rabobank is the world's leading specialist in food and agribusiness banking. One of our key strengths lies in our kaimahi (employees) who have a deep understanding of agriculture and are committed to adding long-term value for our clients.
Our purpose is clear of growing a better New Zealand together. Our commitment to our employees and customers is at the heart of everything we do.
About the role:
At the forefront of financial crime prevention, we're seeking a seasoned leader to head our Transaction Monitoring (TM) Operations & Case Management function in New Zealand (NZ).
As regulators increase their levels of oversight, there is an increasing need to demonstrate the design and operating effectiveness of the Financial Economic Crime framework, specifically in the TM and Regulatory reporting domains.
This is a pivotal role within our Regional Financial Economic Crime (FEC) Operations teams, supporting the Chief Operating Officers in Australia and NZ and contributing to a global mission to protect customers, the bank, and society.
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage the NZ Transaction Monitoring team, ensuring effective alert analysis and case management.
Oversee the submission of Suspicious Activity/Transaction Reports (SARs/STRs) to the NZ Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
Identify and respond to emerging money laundering and terrorism financing risks and typologies.
Develop and maintain compliant TM procedures aligned with local and global AML/CFT regulations.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, Risk, and Global FEC teams.
Drive continuous improvement in TM processes, controls, and performance metrics.
Coach and develop a high-performing team of analysts, ensuring regulatory awareness and analytical excellence.
Support vendor management and system enhancements for TM platforms.
What You'll Bring:
You're a strategic thinker, a strong people leader, and a subject matter expert in financial crime operations. You thrive in complex regulatory environments and are passionate about building high-performing teams that make a real impact.
Proven leadership experience in financial crime, AML/CFT, or regulatory compliance.
Deep understanding of transaction monitoring frameworks and regulatory reporting obligations.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across NZ, Australia, and Europe.
A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
In return we can offer you:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-driven organisation with an ambitious growth strategy. We have a workplace culture that our people are proud of, where we embrace inclusion and belonging and strive to deliver positive experiences for our people and clients.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of perks and benefits, including personal and professional development opportunities, health and wellbeing initiatives, additional leave benefits, a flexible workplace and insurance and financial benefits.
Applications will close Wednesday 5 November 2025
