As we prepare to launch our state-of-the-art OSB manufacturing facility in Taupo, we are seeking a QMS Implementation Lead to establish and integrate a robust Quality Management System (QMS) for our onsite laboratory according to ISO 17025 standards. This is a hands-on, 12-month fixed term role based at our Taupo site.

About The Role

  • You will lead the setup and implementation of an ISO 17025 compliant laboratory, including systems, documentation, and testing methodologies. This includes:
  • Establishing an accredited lab for board testing using IMAL equipment and other tools.
  • Liaison with the accredited body (likely IANZ) to successfully implement ISO17025.
  • Collaborating with site leads to align lab processes with production and quality assurance.
  • Extracting current quality assurance (QA) practices (e.g., weight, density, strength testing) and formalising them into ISO-compliant SOPs.
  • Ensuring long-term testing and historical data are captured and auditable.
  • Building systems to meet governing body standards and support product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of ISO 17025 QMS processes and documentation.
  • Develop SOPs and testing protocols aligned with industry standards.
  • Conduct gap analyses, internal audits, and risk assessments.
  • Train and mentor site staff on QMS tools and compliance.
  • Report on QMS performance metrics (e.g., CoPQ, DPPM, RFT).
  • Support product development through data-driven testing and validation.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance Management and with ISO 17025 and previous experience of ISO 9001 implementation and management.
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally with lab or process engineering experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to build systems from the ground up.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, with relevant QMS and database systems.
  • Ability to access and interpret data to support continuous improvement.
