**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role**

We are on the search for a Capability Lead - Reservoir Strategy to lead a team of super talented people who are tasked with the job of ensuring the geothermal resources under Contact’s control are managed sustainably, for future generations to enjoy. This position sits within our Geothermal Generation Generation & Trading team based at our Wairāakei Geothermal Power Station in Taupo.

This Reservoir Strategy Lead will work closely with our Business Leads who are responsible for organising the execution of work across a team with a diverse skillset, to deliver business outcomes for the geothermal business and execute Contact’s strategy.

The responsibilities of this role are varied but some of the key tasks will be to;
- Provide leadership and develop the technical and interpersonal capability of the Reservoir Strategy Team.
- Maintain Contact’s licence to operate.
- Own the reservoir strategies, ensuring clear strategic alignment across the reservoir, steamfield assets, generation assets and with Contacts strategy.
- Support relationships with Iwi on aspects of kaitiaki and reservoir management.
- Guide the management and improvement of the reservoir surveillance program that provides insight into the reservoir health. Based on the insights, identify improvement opportunities, while ensuring our resource consent requirements are met.
- Assist the implementation of a Digital transformation of the geothermal business, with a particular focus on geothermal reservoir data management and performance optimisation.

This position sits on the Geothermal Generation Leadership Team, which is accountable for achieving business plan targets, setting the long-term strategic direction and ensuring we have a great people and an awesome culture.

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**

Ideally you will have extensive experience managing a geothermal fueling portfolio and providing technical support to operations and development activities. In particular you have had exposure to production and maintenance of reservoir, steamfield and plant. Qualifications wise, you might have a degree in engineering or applied science but we are open to the skills and experience you bring.

This role interacts with a wide range of stakeholders so it requires a lot of coordinating interdependencies. Your ability to communicate and influence across a complex group of stakeholders will be a key element in building trust to ensure we are working on the right things at the right time. Your ability to influence and motivate others to keep operations on track sets you apart from the rest

You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and you bring a fresh perspective and insight. Perhaps you have a new technology or system up your sleeve to enhance existing practices.

You’ll be a strategic thinker. You’re not only focused on monitoring our geothermal assets and their performance right now but you’ll also be thinking about future development activities.

Most importantly you will have leadership experience. You will get the opportunity to share your insight and grow and develop your team to build the overall Reservoir capability and enhance Contact’s reputation as a world class Geothermal operator.
