About the role

Fastgrass Landscaping Ltd is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Christchurch Central Canterbury, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, equipment and supplies to support our landscaping operations. This is a fixed term contract, starting early November and finishing before Christmas (6-8 weeks). You will be working Monday to Friday (possibly Saturdays) 7.00am - 5.30pm (approx).

What you'll be doing

  1. Operate a range of commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, to transport materials, tools and equipment to and from job sites
  2. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
  3. Adhere to all relevant road transport regulations and company policies to ensure compliance
  4. Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles as required
  5. Maintain detailed records of deliveries and vehicle usage
  6. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a commercial vehicle driver, preferably in the landscaping or construction industry
  2. Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driving record
  3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  4. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  6. Good communication and customer service skills
