About the role

Position: Container Hoist Operator - Night Shift

We are seeking skilled Container Hoist Operators to join our high performing teams at our busy Auckland Depots. Please be advised, this is not a truck driver position. We are looking for team players and those who want to take their hoist operating skills to the next level by operating our 50 tonne container handlers. Previous container hoist operator experience is preferred but not essential however you must have confidence working with heavy machinery.

Locations: Otahuhu/Onehunga, Auckland

Status: This is a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, the hours required for the job 50 hours.

Hours: Monday to Friday 5pm – 4am, additional hours available for those who are wanting them.

Duties

  • Supporting ground functions by moving containers around the yard as required
  • Communicating in a clear and co-operative manner using RT communication
  • Driving a single or double stacker container hoist, assisting with container stacking to a maximum height of 8 high (max rated capacity: 45,000kg)
  • Loading/unloading of trucks and work areas as required
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are always adhered to

About You

To be a successful candidate will be punctual, reliable and have a strong work ethic all essential attributes for success in this role.

  • Full NZ Class 1 Licence (essential)
  • Class 2 Licence (Preferred, but not essential)
  • Confidence working with heavy machinery (essential)
  • Demonstrated focus on Zero Harm and always working safely
  • Flexible and adaptive to your work environment to work over other company sites as required (essential)
  • Team player with the ability to work well with others

Please be advised that a Container Hoist is different to a regular hoists/forklift. Training will be provided in order to operate this machinery.
