Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau |Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family
Reporting to the National Surfacing Engineering Manager and working closely directly with the Auckland Supply chain manager, you'll play a key role in driving Fulton Hogan's surfacing excellence, advancing our design capability, materials innovation, and product performance. You'll lead technical input across asphalt design, develop proprietary solutions, provide expert advice, and monitor outcomes to ensure our products meet and exceed client expectations.
This hands-on role will see you working closely with operational teams across the Auckland region to improve asphalt production and paving outcomes. You'll actively support quality initiatives, upskill others, and champion continuous improvement across surfacing projects. This is hybrid not a desk role, where you will provide technical guidance, whilst working closely on site with our
operational teams.
As a Technical Surfacing Specialist, you'll collaborate with both the Auckland delivery team and the national technical team as a key contributor to the Asphalt Improvement Project — driving technical excellence, innovation, and performance across our network of operational depots.
In addition to the above you will:
Deliver specialist support across asphalt surfacing activities, including material selection, mix design, paving operations, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement
Monitor surfacing works to ensure compliance with specifications and standards, proactively addressing risks and non-conformance
Champion continuous improvement and new surfacing technologies, supporting regional and national initiatives that enhance performance and sustainability
Partner with operational teams, clients, and key stakeholders to provide practical technical solutions, tender input, and expert guidance
Conduct forensic assessments of surfacing performance, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures
Advocate for consistency, technical excellence, and safety leadership across Fulton Hogan's surfacing operations, aligned with our Living Safely culture
