Join us in shaping the future of sustainable, resilient water infrastructure across New Zealand
Egis is committed to creating an inclusive, creative culture that embraces diversity and flexibility. We offer generous parental leave, support flexible work practices and strive to create an environment where people can connect, collaborate, grow and succeed.
We are expanding our footprint across New Zealand and building capability within our Water business. With talented teams already established locally, we are primed for growth across the Three Waters space — drinking water, wastewater and stormwater. This is an exciting opportunity to help guide that growth and make a meaningful impact on the future of water services in New Zealand.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Water Leader – New Zealand to drive the growth and success of our Three Waters business nationally. This role can be based anywhere in New Zealand.
You will play a pivotal role in building and strengthening our Water offering — whether your background lies in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, or a combination. You will unify and leverage our existing teams to win, deliver and sustain major water infrastructure projects across the country.
This is a visible and influential leadership role, ideal for someone well connected in the New Zealand water sector, who thrives on building high-performing teams and is passionate about partnering with clients to deliver long-term, sustainable solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and grow Egis' presence in New Zealand's Water sector.
Build, mentor and inspire high-performing teams, fostering collaboration across our NZ footprint.
Drive business development, identifying opportunities, shaping proposals and strengthening client and partner relationships.
Oversee delivery of water infrastructure projects, ensuring excellence in quality, technical outcomes and commercial performance.
Work closely with senior leaders to set strategy, establish market positioning and support long-term growth.
Represent Egis with industry bodies, clients, councils, water entities and key stakeholders, championing our water capability.
Promote continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across teams and projects.
Extensive experience in New Zealand's water infrastructure sector (drinking water, wastewater and/or stormwater).
Proven ability to build, grow and lead high-performing technical teams.
Strong networks and stakeholder relationships within the NZ water industry (e.g., councils, water entities, regulators).
Demonstrated success in winning and delivering complex water projects.
Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and shape market presence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to represent Egis at senior levels.
A collaborative, people-focused leader who can bring teams together across locations.
Egis is committed to creating an inclusive, flexible and supportive environment where people can thrive. We offer generous parental leave, flexible work practices and opportunities for growth across Australia and New Zealand as our presence continues to expand.
Join us on our journey as we grow our Transport business and help shape a sustainable future for New Zealand's connected communities.
