We're seeking passionate Literacy Intervention Specialists who believe in the transformative power of literacy.
You'll deliver targeted, high-impact support to learners in Years 6–13—working online, either synchronously or asynchronously, one-on-one or in small groups. Your mission: provide intensive, wrap-around interventions that accelerate progress, build confidence, and unlock potential.

About the role
As a change-maker in this role, you'll empower ākonga to unlock the transformative power of literacy and build confidence in their own abilities. Working online—both synchronously and asynchronously—you'll provide tailored support one-on-one or in small groups. Through a three-tiered framework, you'll deliver intensive, wrap-around interventions that accelerate learning and create meaningful progress.
Across focused blocks of 6 to 24 weeks, you'll use diagnostic insights to design and teach personalised programmes that meet each learner where they are and take them further than they imagined. Your work will not only build essential literacy skills but also ignite a sense of achievement and possibility that lasts well beyond the learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering literacy acceleration courses
- Using data to track and support ākonga progress
- Facilitating Huinga Ako (Learning Advisories) weekly
- Collaborating with colleagues and whānau to ensure success
About you
You are an innovative, future-focused educator who thrives on authentic learning experiences. You'll bring:
- Current NZ teacher registration and practising certificate
- Expertise in accelerated literacy learning approaches
- Strong skills in data-informed teaching
- Ability to engage and inspire ākonga and whānau
- Deep understanding of the NZ Curriculum
