Summary
The Product Owner position forms part of our Aviation Software Business Unit focused on the tactical, development, quality, testing and delivery for Daifuku Oceania software products globally.
About the Role
As an experienced Product Owner with a background in the aviation or material handling industries and a strong command of Agile SCRUM methodology, your passion for delivering high-quality, innovative software positions you for success in this opportunity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage product development by reviewing feature requirements, creating and prioritising tasks, and creating delivery plans and estimates aligned with the Product Manager's roadmap across several software product suites.
- Produce Epics, Features, and User Stories with clear acceptance criteria based on requirement specifications. Support sprint planning and backlog grooming.
- Run daily stand-ups with development teams, and ensure sprint demos and retrospectives are conducted by the technical leads.
- Oversee software version releases, ensuring all related documentation is complete and aligned with the delivery product requirements.
- Create and maintain product documentation, including standard Functional Design Specifications (FDS), User Manuals, Installation and Troubleshooting Guides, internal wiki content, technical documents, and test plans.
- Manage product delivery to ensure it is in line with assigned R&D budgets.
- Provide guidance, information and assistance to our project deployment and commissioning teams, including reviewing their project specific documentation related to product features, site specific configuration, implementation and troubleshooting.
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements across our products, software architecture, tools, technologies, and development processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Support resource planning to ensure product and project milestones are met.
- Review issues, prioritise them, and allocate resources for investigation and resolution.
Skills & Experience
As a Product Owner, you'll be report to the Product Manager, joining a team that is invested in your success and your future.
Your qualifications and experience will include:
- A related Tertiary Qualification.
- Proven experience as a Software Product Owner, software team leader, or senior developer.
- Experience in the Aviation or Material Handling industry will be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Agile SCRUM software development methodology
- Strong system analysis skills.
- Experience in CI/CD of a software product suite deployed to multiple sites.
- Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation for software products.
- Passionate about delivering high quality, innovative software products in an efficient manner, that exceeds client expectations.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams.
