About the role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planner to join our team at PF Olsen Ltd. In this role, you will provide nationwide resource management consenting advice to the business and be involved in the preparation and successful granting of resource consents. This role will champion environmental best practices, provide timely and cost-effective internal environmental advice, support operational staff with environmental requirements, and project lead for required storm response. You will liaise with council staff, other forest industry peers, representation of PF Olsen in consenting, compliance, and planning matters.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure adherence to PF Olsen's environmental and sustainability policies, environmental regulations, and industry codes of practice
  • Evaluate the eligibility of Group Scheme Members, gather data, and develop and maintain Forest Management Plans for these members.
  • Support operational staff to ensure compliance with the Resource Management Act, Historic Places Act, HASNO Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Actively improve system management, standards, and performance.
  • Assist in preparing for and constructively participate in the annual external FSC audits.
  • Oversee service contracts by ensuring effective reporting, meeting deliverables on time, and maintaining financial cost controls

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in NZ Resource Management or Forestry (with appropriate RMA experience) or equivalent qualification.
  • Familiarity with Council documentation & processes.
  • Sound understanding of environmental issues and implications to the business
  • Excellent understanding of management systems and support tools
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills enable effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
