Calling all skilled all-round chefs Food Folk, Longbeach is a dynamic hospitality company based in Waikanae Beach, Wellington, is seeking an experienced Chef to join our tight-knit team. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our discerning customers. If you have a passion for creating delicious, fresh and innovative dishes, we want to hear from you

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes across our menus
  2. Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and service
  3. Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to optimise workflows and efficiency
  4. Maintaining strict hygiene and health & safety standards in the kitchen
  5. Contributing to the development of new menu items and recipes
  6. Assisting with inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies
  7. Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment
  2. Formal culinary training or qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts
  3. Exceptional cooking skills and a keen eye for detail when it comes to food presentation
  4. Thorough understanding of food hygiene, safety and quality control practices
  5. Ability to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively with others
  6. Strong time management and multitasking capabilities
  7. Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
