Quantity Surveyor - Operations Manager - Concrete Subcontractor

My client is a privately owned, entrepreneurial well-established concrete placing business, specialising in site preparation, laying, and finishing driveways, crossings, paths, and patios. They primarily serve long-term clients in the residential house-building sector contracts but have recently entered the commercial sector for larger scale concrete contracts. This is their key area of expansion.

They are looking for a Concrete focused Quantity Surveyor with some Operations Management experience who knows concrete inside out. This person should have a solid understanding of all aspects of concrete work, from scoping and quoting residential jobs to tendering for commercial projects.

Strong customer relationship skills are essential.

The role includes operations management including managing the companies CRM and internal processes, ensuring everything is accurate, up to date, and running smoothly.

You'll be the go-to person for everything from pricing and planning to operations and process management. This is a hands-on emerging leadership role that combines technical expertise with business oversight.

Role commences January 2026.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience in concrete subcontracting, ideally both residential and commercial.
  • 5+ years' experience in scoping, measure and pricing competitive concrete quotes and tenders.
  • Strong client-facing customer focused presentation skills presenting concrete estimates and tenders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client, subcontractor and supplier relationships with excellent communication skills.
  • Operations management experience in concrete subcontracting.
  • A desire to seek and implement improvements in operations and pricing.
