Skills & Experience

Essential Skills:

  • Solid, practical programming skills.
  • 2+ years experience employed in a programming role.
  • Proven game or app creation experience - this is a prerequisite to applying (send us something we can use or play).
  • Must have experience developing for mobile with Unity.
  • Must know how to update SDK's
  • Strong C# skills.
  • Must work well on a team
  • Experience using Git, or other CVS.
  • Initiative to self manage and ensure your time is being used in the most efficient way possible to produce fun experiences for end users.
  • Great communication and teamwork.

Preferred:

  • Tertiary degree in Computer or Information Science.
  • Some experience developing with Cocos2d-x, C++, Lua would be of benefit (but is not expected) due to older products in our portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute clean, efficient code in a collaborative environment while staying on schedule
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Confident in your work but open to learning. You take input seriously and respond thoughtfully
  • Ask questions when needed. Stay curious and proactive while working independently
  • Have a reputation for trusted code. Team members rely on the components you build to perform reliably
  • Provide clear documentation for complex mobile systems
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in programming languages relevant to the development environment, such as C#
  • Understand the stakes of live products. One small bug can have a major impact, so test thoroughly before pushing to master
  • Balance technical excellence with player experience. You care about clean architecture and modern practices, but never at the expense of gameplay
  • Show competence in mobile SDK implementation, platform build systems, and third-party tech such as Firebase, Singular, Google Play Services, Ironsource, GameKit, FMOD, and many more
  • Take initiative in your own upskilling and professional development
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with the lead programmer or tech lead
  • Contribute ideas and lead discussions during concept development for new mechanics and products
  • Demonstrate competence in mobile project setup and architecture, with support from senior programmers when needed
