In this pivotal role, you'll take charge of coordinating and optimising daily freight movements for our Linehaul Team. Your expertise will be key to keeping everything running smoothly — ensuring reliable service and building strong, trusted relationships with our company drivers, owner drivers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Freight Planning & Dispatch Execution

Plan, allocate and monitor daily freight movements to maximise fleet efficiency. Keep all job details updated in the TMS with real-time accuracy. Spot gaps early and take action to optimise performance and cost effectiveness.

System Accuracy & Process Discipline

Maintain top-tier data accuracy and stay on top of system workflows. Build strong expertise in planning tools and systems to keep operations running smoothly.

Communication & Coordination

Be the central hub for drivers and internal teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed. Respond quickly to queries with clear, practical, solution-focused communication.

Operational Delivery & Process Improvement

Play an active part in toolbox meetings and provide clear, accurate handovers between shifts. Track plan execution throughout the day and make adjustments as needed. Identify recurring issues or delays and work with the team to drive continuous improvement.

Safety, Compliance & Culture

Champion safe, compliant work practices and uphold Chain of Responsibility obligations. Contribute to a positive, accountable team culture — role modelling Booth's Logistics values and a "can do - will do" attitude every day.

What you will bring:

  • 3–5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of New Zealand.
  • Understanding of NZ VDAM rules and transporting Dangerous Goods by road and sea.
  • Experience with ICOS and/or other TMS system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A consistent, customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy.
  • Intermediate–advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel & Outlook).
  • High competence with digital systems and information management.
  • Strong work ethic with excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Resilience and the ability to think on your feet in a high-pressure environment.
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
