About the Role:

Hume Pine (NZ) Ltd is seeking an experienced Office Supervisor to lead our Hamiora sales and dispatch office. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating day-to-day office operations, supporting the team, and driving a consistently high standard of customer service across sales, production, and logistics.

This role would suit someone who is organised, people-focused, and confident managing sales administration and dispatch functions, ideally with a background in the timber or manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and support Internal Sales, Customer Service and Dispatch team to achieve sales and dispatch targets
  • Ensure the smooth daily operation of the sales and dispatch office
  • Deliver high levels of customer service, including prompt responses to phone calls and emails
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders, quotes and special runs
  • Liaise with the production and sales manager to manage stock availability, lead times and product movement
  • Coordinate product movements with external suppliers, freight and providers
  • Verify invoice pricing and ensure month-end deadlines are met
  • Follow up return consignments and ensure credits are processed correctly
  • Improve office processes and promote best practice
  • Support staff development and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed

About you

You are a confident leader with strong organisational skills and a customer-first mindset. You thrive in a busy environment and take pride in accuracy, communication, and teamwork.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in sales, dispatch, customer service or administration
  • Experience in timber, manufacturing or a related industry (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with figures
  • Effective time management and planning skills
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and handle pressure
  • A professional, ethical and reliable approach
  • Sales and marketing experience
