About the role
Ignite is seeking a commercial Interior Designer to start immediately on a six-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience—preferably across workplace, hospitality, retail, or tourism environments. We are busy with several local and international projects that need your expertise, creativity, and client management skills.
Working closely with our senior Interior Designers and Architects, you will enjoy excellent breadth of project scope and responsibility.
The successful candidate must be self-managing and take the lead in some client relationships, clearly presenting concepts and designs, and facilitating productive feedback discussions. Your involvement will include all aspects of design from concept development and integration of existing brand standards, through to the review process. Driving multiple projects at once will necessitate effective engagement with clients and colleagues to ensure that all relevant information and decisions are communicated clearly.
About us
With more than 35 years' experience in Architecture, Planning, and Interior & Urban Design, the Ignite studio creates enriching experiences and inspiring places that add real-world value. Our multi-disciplinary team spans 6 design studios across New Zealand and Australia.
We are all about people, and pride ourselves on our human-centred approach, with our team and clients alike. You will love the opportunities to collaborate with experts across the organisation, benefiting from their wealth of knowledge, while also taking the lead on your own initiatives and projects.
About you
- Must be proficient with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (presentations).
- Enscape preferable.
- While the role is preferably based in Auckland, we will consider candidates in other main centres.
- Strong design skills and expertise that reflect your exposure to a range of sectors.
- Confident and intuitive communicator, able to draw out information, and clearly explain your designs with compelling rationale.
- Able to independently manage client relationships on small projects, and provide support and influence on medium-large projects.
- Proactive with a sense of urgency, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, yet ensure that quality always comes first.
- Your values align with those of Ignite, you bring a positive mindset, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
