We're looking for a Housekeeper who takes pride in their work and are ready to support the daily operations of South Care Rest Home and Hospital in North Dunedin. If you are passionate about cleanliness and care, we invite you to be part of a team that values dignity, wellbeing, and the highest standards of resident support.

  • We are on the hunt for a part-time Housekeeper, with a requirement to work a minimum of 18 hours per week.

To be successful for this position you must also have a NZ citizenship, permanent residency or a valid NZ work visa that does not require a job token.

Candidates who are available to start immediately will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in resident rooms, bathrooms, lounges, and staff areas.
  • Manage laundry duties with care and respect, including sorting, washing, folding, and minor repairs.
  • Uphold infection control and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Maintain a calm, homely environment that supports resident comfort.
  • Support the wider team through collaboration and good communication.

About You:

  • Experience in housekeeping, laundry, or cleaning (aged care preferred but not required).
  • A caring, respectful approach toward elderly and disabled residents.
  • Good physical fitness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time well and take initiative in daily duties.
  • Flexible to work on a roster, including weekends if required.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and willing to learn.
  • Awareness of privacy, dignity, and respect in a care environment.
