Are you an experienced Plant & Equipment Mechanic with strong mechanical and hydraulic skills?

Our busy workshop in Wiri is looking for an experienced Plant & Equipment Mechanic to join our team full-time.

This is a hands-on role maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of plant and heavy equipment used in piling, drilling, and construction. You'll be challenged to find solutions, take ownership of your work, and help keep our fleet running safely and efficiently.


What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Manager, you will:

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and installations to plant and equipment

• Carry out mechanical and hydraulic diagnostics and fault-finding

• Complete testing, fittings, replacements and adjustments to specification

• Operate machinery, lifting equipment, and power tools safely and accurately

• Record all work completed on job sheets and workshop systems

• Communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers as needed

• Promote and follow Health & Safety best practices at all times

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am–5pm (40 hours per week)

Regular overtime opportunities available.


What we're looking for

We're after someone with proven mechanical and hydraulic servicing experience in plant, equipment, or heavy machinery.

You'll need:

• Trade or field servicing experience – mechanical, hydraulics, and fitting

• High level of skill in maintenance, servicing, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting

• Ability to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions

• DC electrical experience (advantageous)

• Strong work ethic, pride in workmanship, and desire to keep learning

• Excellent communication skills and good numeracy/literacy in English

• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and in a team

• Medically and physically fit for hands-on workshop and field work

• Full Class 1 driver's licence and own reliable transport

• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa required
