With clean lines in glass, stone and timber, Matakauri's own take on luxury is understated and welcoming, embracing guests and championing the mountainscape.

We offer competitive wages, delicious associate lunches and access to our Associate Perks Programme with a wide range of discounts and deals with our suppliers and partners. In addition, we endeavour whenever possible to provide you with 2 days in a row off each week.

What you will do:

The kitchen is where the magic happens in our Luxury Hotel- and you can be part of that We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchenhand to join our team. The right applicant must be self-motivated, a team player and work well in a high-pressure environment. Duties include:

  • keeping the kitchen clean and completing daily tasks as per cleaning roster
  • washing up of all pots, pans and dishes
  • basic food preparation & storing of delivery's as required by shift leader
  • And ensuring that health, safety and hygiene is maintained at the highest possible level.

What you will bring:

We are looking for a self-starter and excellent team player who can demonstrate:

  • A basic knowledge of all areas of the kitchen
  • The ability to think on your feet as we have many guest requests and menu changes each day
  • Good time management.
  • Flexible and willing and able to work evenings and weekends.

Due our private and remote location, you will need to have your own reliable transport. You will also need a valid working holiday visa or New Zealand work rights to apply.
