EQUIP Recruitment is looking for reliable Hydro Vac Operators to join a hardworking civil crew across the Wellington region.

This full-time casual role offers consistent hours, solid training and the opportunity to go permanent for the right person.

About the Role

You'll operate a hydro excavation truck using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to safely expose underground utilities. This is physical, hands-on work with plenty of variety and a strong team culture.

Key Duties

  • Driving to and from job sites across the region
  • Operating hydro vac equipment around sensitive underground services
  • Assisting with trenching, pipe excavation and site clean-ups
  • Performing daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance
  • Completing job records and communicating with supervisors
  • Following all health and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Class 2 licence minimum (Class 4 preferred)
  • Experience in hydro excavation, drainage or civil work is an advantage
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and a strong team player
  • Flexible with early starts and occasional weekend work
