Council is seeking a skilled and driven Project Manager to support the establishment of the new Water Services Organisation. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact project that will shape the future of water service delivery across our region.

You will work closely with the Strategic Delivery Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver all aspects of the establishment project. You'll bring professional project management expertise to ensure delivery meets agreed scope, timeframes, budget, and quality standards.

Your role will involve:

  • Coordinating inputs across Council departments, external stakeholders, and contractors
  • Developing and maintain project plans, milestones, timelines, and budgets
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement, contract management, and governance requirements
  • Monitoring and reporting on project performance to support informed decision-making
  • Embedding effective engagement, communication, and change management processes

Be the engine behind the project framework-tracking milestones, managing stakeholders, and ensuring smooth delivery.

This role requires someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in project management, business, engineering, or a relevant discipline; or equivalent experience

  • Professional project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) is desirable

  • 10+ years managing medium-to-large projects, ideally within local government, utilities, or infrastructure

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and practices
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, procurement, and contract management
  • Familiarity with local government processes and statutory obligations is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to anticipate tasks and support the team
