This role offers opportunities to grow and directly influence financial systems and outcomes as we expand.  The right candidate for this role is expected to grow into a Finance Manager or Business Partner role over the next months.

You will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Managing Director and leaders across the business, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed our financial objectives while making Outside In an even better place to work.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations & Reporting

• Partner with the Finance Team to support the effective delivery of day-to-day, monthly, and annual financial operations, including:

• Ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions, accruals, and provisions.

• Managing inventory and manufacturing accounting, including stock management, WIP reconciliations, and cost allocations.

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts with supporting analysis.

• Delivering divisional and regional reporting to support visibility and enable informed decision-making across the business.

• Group consolidation.

• Reviewing and submitting RWT, GST, and FBT returns, along with other mandatory financial and regulatory reporting obligations.

• Driving year-end processes and coordinating with external accountants.

• Assisting with cash flow management and financial forecasting activities.

Business Partnership & Improvements

• Collaborate with the Managing Director, Finance Manager and team leaders to:

• Provide financial insights for budgeting and forecasting.

• Drive understanding and analysis of P&L, job profitability, and cost control within teams.

• Partner with divisions to effectively manage budgets through variance analysis.

• Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve systems, reporting, and business processes that enable us to scale effectively.

Culture

• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.

• Champion financial literacy across the business, ensuring teams understand the economic impact of their decisions.

• Actively contribute to maintaining a positive, high-trust culture where team members feel supported and empowered to contribute ideas for improvement.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' senior accounting experience in a similar role, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-region business.

• CA/CPA qualified.

• Ideally, Big 4 experience.

• Strong knowledge of financial and management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems preferred.

• Excellent attention to detail and time management.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

• Familiarity with inventory, production and project accounting is advantageous.
