Monday – Friday (Unit is open 7am- 8.30pm and flexibility is required during these hours)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join Day case at The Wellington Hospital in St Johns Wood, London (NW8 7JA).

Our Day Surgery Unit, which consists of 10 private rooms, opens from 6.30am and closes between 8-10pm, receiving on average 20 admissions over the course of the day.

We handle a variety of surgical procedures which include; gynaecology, urology, breast, orthopaedic, medical, ENT, radiology and vascular. Being a close knit and hardworking team, we are very proud of the level of customer service and care we provide to our patients, which is demonstrated in our patient feedback.

As the Staff Nurse, working within our Day Case unit, you will plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care whilst working within a multidisciplinary team, supervising and directing junior staff and also temporary staff. You'll demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions and contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedures and research based care and other practice development initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• NMC Registration and PREP requirements
• Post-graduate experience of a broad range of surgical procedures
• Experienced in extended roles such as IV cannulation& phlebotomy
• Immediate life support
